Hi! Long time no post. Well, back in November, my laptop crashed. And I lost everything. Even a short comic which I spent an entire year working on. I was 1 page away from being done, and now the whole thing is gone. As depressing as that is, you think that stopped me? Nope. Thanks to some help from some family around Christmas time, I was able to upgrade from a laptop to a desktop, with a tablet monitor to boot! A Huion GT-191 to be specific. This is one of the first pieces I made with my new set up, and I don't know if it comes across or not, but I was still getting used to the new tablet monitor. 

A little background on who this is. Back in September, a friend of mine decided to start a D&D campaign after being inspired by Critical Role (which is a show where prolific voice actors from videogames and anime like Matt Mercer, Liam O'Brian, and Sam Riegel, just to name a few, get together on Twitch and play Dungeons and Dragons). It's a fun show if you've got 4 hours a day to spare. If not, it's something nice to have playing in the background while you draw. 

In any case, my friend was starting a game. And part of the character creation process is giving this character a backstory. My character is a young, half-elven Wizard who comes from the humble town of Belhaven. Who you're seeing here is my character's human mother. While she's done a bit of everything in her town, from bartending to horse handling, at the time my character leaves home, she's a seamstress, who made my character's hat and cloak. There's even a story that me and the DM kind of made up that started as a riff on a joke, but with the heartwarming way that story ended, we both agreed that that story is cannon. What that story is? Who knows, I may make a comic of it some day.
